Ana Mari el tema político durante el franquismo lo trabajó formando criterios de la misma manera que la religión. El franquismo le pilló estudiando en Granada, recuerda cuando había "toque de queda" y no les permitían salir a la calle. Una vez le siguió un policía porque pensaba que ella tenía panfletos políticos.
