Arirang research team has been working on the project -Collecting Various Forms and Styles of Arirang which is an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and Constructing DB(database) related to Arirang on a Global Scale- that funded by the National Research Foundation of Korea.As a result, we have collected 27,696 copies of the Arirang’s lyrics(9,604 copies of the local recording, and 18,092 copies of the document containing). At present, we obtain 8,227 sound sources among them.We made the contents as DB. The lists are as follows; 1,142 literature pieces related to Arirang, 3,853 newspaper articles related to Arirang, 714 pieces of record information related to Arirang, 88 interviews involving Arirang (including sound sources, and video tapes), and 8,014 pieces of Arirang related materials including sources in the Youtube.Arirang research team is currently building a website based on the Arirang DB which has been investigated and compiled. This website is being built on the academic website server in the Academy of East Asian Studies (Sungkyunkwan university) for the purpose of providing web services.
