Las calles de Artajona eran muy oscuras, eran como callejas, con poca iluminación. Dioni comenta que las casas se han renovado mucho y que el Cerco durante mucho tiempo fue expoliado por gente que se llevó piedras para construir sus casas. Al tiempo, la gente se dio cuenta que había que recuperar y reconstruir el Cerco.
