Escribieron un libro sobre el euskera en Mendavia. Encontraron testimonios de la lengua vasca desde el año 1490 hasta nuestros días. Los términos más antiguos del pueblo eran en euskera. Los únicos que hablaron vasco en Mendavia fueron pastores de zonas del norte, algunos de ellos tenían problemas para entender el castellano.
