This article introduced the protection status of intangible cultural heritage and geographical indication of Huanggang specialty in Dabie mountainous area, and discussed the developmental countermeasures from the following aspects; the collection of intangible cultural heritage, declaration of intangible cultural heritage, productive protection of intangible cultural heritage, declaration of geographical indication, construction of quality standards, brand cultivation, tourism development, industrial development for poverty alleviation, etc.
