Traditional stone carving craft of Mizhi County has a long history and has been inherited for generations, which is worth significant concern of preservation as an intangible cultural heritage. In accordance with its severe current status, this research adopts the vision of cultural anthropology and research methods. By survey, collation and comparison of the folk handicraft from a cultural anthropology viewpoint, the authors propose a systematic strategy for preserving and utilizing Mizhi traditional stone carving in the expectation that the traditional stone carving be well persevered and revived.
