The intangible cultural heritage of the Korean ethnic group in China contains the spiritual values, ways of thinking, and cultural consciousness of the Korean Ethnic group in China, which embodies the vitality and creativity. After joining the UNESCO "Convention on the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage" in 2004, China began to focus on protecting intangible cultural heritage of minorities. Although the project to protect the intangible cultural heritage of the Korean ethnic group in China has also made progress, there are still many shortcomings. This study focuses on Yanbian, a gathering area of the Korean ethnic group in China, to grasp the current state of protection of intangible cultural heritage of the Korean ethnic group in China and to investigate the current problems of protection. In addition, the government proposed specific protection methods such as improving the laws and systems of intangible cultural heritage, ensuring support for protection costs, expanding the training of successors and strengthening the participation of ordinary citizens.
