The linkage between cultural heritage and space and inhabiting communities, as well as the proliferation of mobile terminals connected in people’s pockets, with their implicit potential for geolocation and participation, have led to the development of new experiences based on the interaction and feedback between virtual and real space. Thus, this work conducts a bibliographical revision of research literature on sound as an element of culture and identity of a place-community, placing special emphasis on sound narratives as a form of expression that increases the visibility of cultural heritage to provide unique and immersive experiences of space, different from traditional ones.
