Su hermana y ella estaban en casa con la abuela cuando bombardearon Lumbier. Hubo varios muertos, hicieron el funeral de noche. Las bombas cayeron en la zona de San Juan, en la iglesia, y en la calle mayor. Mataron a una amiga suya, de 14 años. No se supo quién había sido, se dijo que igual se confundieron con Liédena, donde había un fortín de armas.
